We welcome ISB members to volunteer to help with any of the following committees. Please send an email to intsocbio@gmail.com if you would like to know more about any of these or to volunteer.
Award Committee
Description: Convened annually to organize the nomination and final selection of awards made by the Society at the annual conference. EC appointees will select and invite committee members but these will all be non-members of the EC.
Conference Committee
Description: The local organizers for the annual conference invite members from the community to the conference committee, to assist with abstract selection for workshops, talks and posters, and assist with developing the conference program.
Election Committee
Description: Convened annually to work with the Election Officer to organize the nomination and final selection of candidates for election to the EC by membership vote. EC appointees will select and invite committee members but these will all be non-members of the EC.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee
Description: This committee was formed as an outcome of the Biocuration 2019 conference, with the goal to promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion across the Society and the broader community. More info here.
Membership officer
Description: The membership officer oversees the ISB membership. The Membership Officer is appointed by the Executive Committee and must be a member of the ISB.
Nominating Committee
Description: The Nominating Committee is appointed by the Executive Committee and consists of members of the ISB. Their mandate is to generate the list of candidates for the ISB Executive Committee election. For more details, click here.
