The mission of the International Society for Biocuration (ISB) is to promote the field of biocuration and provide a forum for information exchange through meetings and workshops. Central to our mission is our commitment to be transparent about the data we collect about you, how it is used and with whom it is shared.

Data we collect

Membership data

This information is stored on an online, password protected database accessible only to the Membership Officer and nominated members of the Executive Committee and is retained for a maximum of 3 years after membership has lapsed.

Expenses repayment data
Electronic copies of invoices and claim forms received by the Society are maintained in a password-protected file share system for 10 years following the financial year in which the claim is made. These forms contain member’s either personal or institutional contact details and also banking details, which may also be either personal or institutional.

Website Tracking
The ISB website logs the IP address of your browser to track usage statistics and to identify operational problems. This information is never used to identify individuals or organizations.
